Sobre nosotros

Somos un modelo multicéntrico de hospitales universitarios en Colombia, diseñado para facilitar la vigilancia y la investigación clínica, epidemiológica y virológica de los trastornos neurológicos asociados con infecciones emergentes.

Creemos que los hallazgos de este proyecto tendrán un gran impacto en la salud pública y abordarán preguntas importantes relacionadas con la diversidad viral y su impacto en la severidad de la enfermedad, información necesaria para comprender la patogénesis de las enfermedades, su manejo y el desarrollo de vacunas.

Este proyecto también contribuirá a fortalecer la capacidad en Colombia mediante la inversión en investigación clínica y traslacional para caracterizar mejor las complicaciones neurológicas de las enfermedades virales emergentes.

Nuestros objetivos

El Modelo

Utilizar el modelo NEAS para establecer un enfoque sostenible para la evaluación de trastornos neuroinflamatorios agudos como el síndrome de Guillain-Barré (SGB) y la encefalitis-mielitis, y determinar el papel de las infecciones emergentes en el desarrollo de dichas complicaciones.

Fortalecimiento de capacidades para la investigación innovadora

Implementar tecnologías de vanguardia para mejorar el diagnóstico de patógenos emergentes en el inicio de trastornos neuroinflamatorios agudos.

Educación y entrenamiento

Establecer un programa de formación que mejore las competencias de los investigadores colombianos en el uso de técnicas moleculares e inmunológicas de última generación, y enfoques de biología computacional en estudios de metagenómica y descubrimiento de patógenos.

How long we retain your data
